Day 1 – 2025 Part 2 England Pilgrimage September 23, 2025September 23, 2025Friday, September 19, 2025We loved our Celtic Christianity Pilgrimage last year so much that we decided to “continue” it this year. There were sites and areas that we weren’t able to make it to last year (despite driving 1,200 miles in Scotland and England.)As a reminder, our desire has been to focus on historical places and people who are historically significant to the spread of Christianity in what we now know as Great Britain and Ireland, specifically Celtic Christianity around the 300’s to 600’s.Our plans are (hopefully) a slower pace and not as much travel this year. Time will tell.Last year we stayed with my friend since high school in Cocoa, Florida, Jennie and Steve. They were gracious hosts and encouraged us to return. And we are!Much of our first week is planned. The rest is in flux. So, as it stands right now:Kidlington Saturday night. Church and lunch on Sunday then drive to Sunderland to spend the night. Monday morning drive to Lindesfarne (Holy Island) for 2 nights.Tuesday, walk the Pilgrim’s Way from the mainland to Lindesfarne during low tide.Wednesday, (LONG) drive to Canterbury. Thursday evening drive back to Kidlington. The rest of our time is not planned out yet. Places top priority to see:Glastonbury WellsSalisbury Cathedral Gloucester WinchesterFly London to Dulles on Tuesday, Oct 7Though we purchased our tickets through Delta, we will be flying Virgin Atlantic.More from the other side of the pond!Kristin and Gregg 2025 England Pilgrimage - Part 2 Travels Celtic ChristianityGreat BritainPilgrimageTravels
